2 ways to acquire the Bulgarian permanent residency under the business immigration program

1) Self funding: The candidate deposits the full amount with the government which is   511,292 Euros that is used to buy government bonds. The full amount is returned to the investor 5 years later without accumulated interests. This is how the Bulgarian Government and its people are benefiting from this program

2) Financed funding: This is how the majority of immigrant investors decide to enter Bulgaria. Instead of freezing 511,292 Euros for 5 years they pay a reduced amount of 160,000 Euros once. This amount is not returned to the investor after a period of 5 years. It is used to finance the full amount through an authorized financial institution. The majority of candidates select this option simply because their average annual return on their global assets will generate more interest than the amount needed to finance the 511,292 Euros.

One difference between the two programs is that in the case of the financed option the candidates will need to demonstrate that they possess worldwide assets in their name or their families of at least 1,000,000 Euros.
